Issue/Introduction

Problem to save running configuration file to the startup configuration file in XOS CLI This solution applies to situation when attempts to save running configuration fail due to cbsd transaction errors:

CBS# wr
%SYS-ERR: Failed
Detail: Failed to save running-config to start-up config
CBS#

Cause

The cbsd daemon logs following or similar errors in /var/log/messages:

cbsd[1677]: [E] CBS_DB_BEGIN BEGIN transaction rollbacks exist
cbsd[1677]: [E] transcation_err Transaction count is > 0 in proc :15
cbsd[1677]: [E] cbsd_log_child_error Save configuration failed with signal 11
cbsd[1677]: [E] transcation_err Transaction count is > 0 in proc :7

Resolution

This error condition can be cleared by restarting the cbsd service from the UNIX prompt:

CBS# unix su
[[email protected] admin]# service cbsd restart
Stopping cbsd daemon: [ OK ]
Starting cbsd daemon: [ OK ]

After cbsd restarts exit back to CLI and verify that configuration can be saved.
