This is Microsoft error code and it can be generated for the number of reasons. To further clarify the cause.
How RIP are copied? (directly from the source or through DS to Aclient) Under which user account RIP is executed? (rights obtained through Aclient or Administrator must be logged on) Which other options are configured with RIP?
Here are some conditions when it's occurs, see if that applies to your problem:
1) When the aclient service runs under LocalSystem account and the logged-in user is an administrator, the package executed successfully. 2)When the aclient service runs under LocalSystem account and the logged-in user is not an administrator, the package fails with Error 93: Cannot create directory because the process doesn't have admin rights. In the package we had specified "obtain rights through AClient" set. 3)When the aclient service runs under 'local administrator' account and the logged-in user is not an administrator, the package fails with Error: A required privilege is not held by the client.
The possible cause for this is when creating the RIP, RapidInstall->Edit->Options->Install Conditions->Administrator Rights can be set to "Obtain rights through AClient". If this option is set in the RI package, it's not allow the user to specify the account for executing the package, else it's allow to specify the account for executing the package. Then in the above case where the user wants to "Obtain rights through AClient", the package should be executed under the Aclient account and not the account specified for "File Source Login". Right now it is executed under the "File Source Login" account.
If using Copy Directly from Source to deploy RIPs. User account specified to copy RIPs also used for installation. If this user never log on to this particular system before there is no SID for him under HKEY_USERS hive. On RIP install if information must be added to registry hive HKEY_CURRENT_USER and SID for that user is not in the registry installation will fail with error code -1073741819. To prevent this error, SID for user account used to copy and install the RIP must be in registry.
