Issue/Introduction

Imperva MX server only displays one gateway Imperva gateway running on 2 different  Crossbeam chassis are registered and running, however only one gateway will show up on the GUI


Cause


The MX server will register the gateways based on the eth0 MAC address of the  vaps and if the MAC address is the same it   will simply replace the current gateway with the new gateway being registered.The last gateway to be registered will show in the GUI, replacing the previous gateway

Setup

Chassis A
system-identifier 101
vap-group   dbfw
Imperva is installed  ACTIVE on slot 5

ifconfig output for dfw_1
dbfw_1 (chassisA): ~# ifconfig eth0

Chassis B

vap-group   imp
Imperva is  installed ACTIVE on slot 5

Resolution

To prevent this issue from happening and also being able to run Imperva on any slot within the chassis, change the system identifier to be unique between the 2 chassis.

Workaround

Modify the ap-list on one of the chassis such that Imperva loads on a different slot/APM
