The X80-AC-3 chassis supports four 1200 watt or four 2700 watt power supplies. Blue Coat Systems does not support a mixed working configuration of AC power supplies in the AC chassis except while upgrading from 1200 watt to 2700 watt supplies..
The power supply modules are installed from the front of the chassis, with each assembly supplying a standard AC connection at the rear of the chassis.
Each power supply module has LEDs to indicate power. The PWR GOOD green LED indicates that the internal DC output level is within the desired range.IMPORTANT NOTE:
The AC-1 and the AC-2 chassis support up to four 1200 watt power supplies only. They DO NOT support the 2700 watt power supplies.
The 2700 watt supply is readily identified by the 2700W ID on its handle.
The 2700 watt supply requires 176 to 275 VAC outlets with grounding and power surge protection. (It will not be damaged, but will not work, if connected to a 110 volt power source.)
The power supply module is field replaceable.
Ordering the Correct Power Cord
- All power cord kits must be ordered for the country to which the chassis will be shipped.
- The X-Series price list contains the order number for each kit and Blue Coat Manufacturing must approve each kit order.
By default, the power cord shipped with the chassis within the United States is a standard Type B (American 3-pin), one for each power supply ordered. The length of the power cord is 7' 6", Cordage SJT+, 3 Conductor 16 AWG and the Amp rating is 13.Calculating Power Requirements
It is important to calculate the total power draw of the chassis depending upon varying hardware configurations. The X-Series Power Calculator is available for reference. To download the file, see the link in the References section below.
Power information for the X80-AC-1 and AC-2, which support 1200 W power supplies only, is found in KB article 000019018.
