Issue/Introduction

STATE_REASON_NOSDPPATH errors are seen in swatch when the SDP path between the NPM and APM is down and is not recovering. The SDP path can go down due to back pressure caused by excessive traffic, and traffic profile should be investigated in the network. A reload of the NPM may clear the clear the back pressure.1. The output of swatch option 8 shows the following errors for all vap members of the vap-group:
-------
New Flow Cpu Mem KB/sec
Slot VAP Name Prbab'ty Load Pct Pct recv xmit
---- -------- -------- ------ --- --- ------ ------
5 (VAP id 1 not able to service flows now: STATE_REASON_NOSDPPATH)
6 (VAP id 2 not able to service flows now: STATE_REASON_NOSDPPATH)
7 (VAP id 3 not able to service flows now: STATE_REASON_NOSDPPATH)

2. Traffic stops passing through the vap-group

3. The following log entries are seen:

Cause

The STATE_REASON_NOSDPPATH errors mentioned above occur due to the SDP path(s) between the NPM and the APM(s) being down. The SDP paths go down due to backpressure, which may occur due to different reasons including excessive traffic

Resolution

Investigate the network for any traffic spikes , DDOS attacks etc. that may have caused the back pressure.

Workaround

Reloading the NPM may resolve the back pressure and hence resolve the issue.
