Why is the Proxy constantly creating TCP sessions for a specific host with no corresponding client connection?

The Proxy Health check system will establish TCP sessions with hosts at regular intervals, in order to ensure they are accessible.

The most common health check scenario is with forwarding hosts. When a forwarding host is configured on the Proxy, a health check is created for that host. The Proxy will then attempt to establish a TCP session with that host on the configured port every 10 seconds by default.

This behavior can be modified if needed, so there is less traffic.

To modify this behavior, browse to the following location within the Management Console on the Proxy:

Configuration - Health Checks - General

From here, click the appropriate Health Check entry and choose Edit.

The check can be disabled here. The timings for the checks and how they are reported can be modified as well.
