Issue/Introduction

Blue Coat is updating hard disk drives (HDD) for select CacheFlow models to new versions of 2TB drives.

The new HDDs are expected to commence shipping in mid October 2013.

Blue Coat will provide like-for-like RMA and Field Replacement Units (FRU) for 6 months from the date of this article.

NOTE: Blue Coat will not be retroactively replacing existing HDDs.

To enable full utilization and performance from these new HDDs, updated CacheFlow operating system (CFOS) software is required.

Without an updated version of CFOS the status of an updated HDD will show as:
Status: present (unsupported)

HDDs running in this unsupported state will function, but will be of limited use.

To see the status of HDDs from the CLI enter "show disk all" or "show disk #":

CacheFlow> show disk 15
