When would a hard drive problem cause a PacketShaper to crash?

Issue/Introduction

 If an unpartitioned hard drive is installed in a PacketShaper, it will cause the appliance to crash during bootup.

A  crash log similar to the following will be produced in this situation:

PacketShaper hard drives must be correctly partitioned and formatted before they can be recognized by the PSOS operating system used on PacketShapers.

A correctly partitioned and formatted hard drive would have four partitions which look like this:
