ProxySG Software - SGOS

Issue/Introduction

The ProxySG sends the following routing table integers to the traps receiver. Despite which interface is used, the SNMP data sent will always show the fixed IP address: SNMP Agent address: agent-addr .

Resolution

The ProxySG looks for the least interface ID among the configured interfaces, and assigns its IP address as the global SNMP agent address, regardless of the interface used to send the packet.

Example 1:

Interface ID

IP

0:0

10.10.10.10

0:1

1:0

10.20.20.20

1:1

Least interface id

0:0

SNMP Agent-Addr

10.10.10.10 (address of 0:0)

Example 2:

2:1

Least interface ID

2:1

SNMP Agent-addr

10.20.20.20 (address of 2:1)

Notes:

  • This is the default behavior of the ProxySG; it is not configurable.
  • It is always a good practice to have 0:0 as the management interface.
