Issue/Introduction

The URL field in a matching rule allows you to classify by a specific web page.

Resolution

The URL field only contains the path and file name -- do not include the hostname. For example, suppose you want to classify by the following web page:

http://www.mycompany.com/support/filename.html

In the above example, you would put /support/filename.html in the URL section of the matching rule. The hostname (www.mycompany.com) would be entered in the Name field (in the Inside or Outside column, depending on where the web server resides).

You may want to use the following URLs:

/*
/*.htm*
/*.gif
/index.htm*
/default.*
