What options are there for post processing log files using Reporter version 9.x?

With Reporter, Version 8, I was able to run a script after Reporter processed the logs into the database. Where is this option in Reporter, version 9.x?

Can I run a Post processing script on my access logs  with Reporter, Version 9.x?

Can I schedule when Reporter, Version 9, processes its' logs?

Resolution

With Reporter, version 9.x,  you can do these things after you process an access log into the database.

  • Rename the log file.
  • Move the log file.
  • Remove ( delete) the log files.

To change these settings, follow these steps.

  • Login to Reporter using the admin account.
  • Navigate to the Adminstration section > General Settings.
  • Click on Log Sources, and find the log source you want to change.
  • Click on "Actions", and choose "Post procesing actions"

NOTE: You can no longer run a script after you process the log file, with Reporter, version 9.x.

To change the schedule for when you process your logs into the database, follow these steps:

  • Login to Reporter using the admin account.
  • Navigate to the Adminstration section > General Settings.
  • Click on Databases, and find the database you want to change.
  • Click on Actions, and choose "Set Log Sources.
  • Set the schedule at the top of this screen for the frequency you want to check for log sources.

NOTE: The options are every in intervals of minuites.

NOTE: You cannot set this value to trigger on a certain time of day, or a day of the week, at this time.
