Issue/Introduction

There are several methods to verify what IP addresses are hitting a specific traffic class:

  • Host Analysis
  • Traffic Flow command
  • Top Talkers and Top Listeners

Resolution

Host Analysis

Use the Host Analysis feature:

  1. From the Report tab, select Host Analysis.
  2. In the Flow Criteria section, locate the Class field and type the class path and name (for example, Inbound/Http).
  3. Select get flows.

Traffic Flow command

Telnet to your PacketShaper and use the following command to list the current activity per class:

tr fl -tupXICc <tclass>

where <tclass> is the name of the traffic class and path.

tr fl -tupxICA <IP Address>

where <IP Address> is the IP address of the host you are interested in.

This command will list the IP addresses and TCP/UDP ports in use for this specific class.

Top Talkers and Top Listeners

Another method to verify host activity on a specific traffic class is to use the feature Top Talkers and/or Listeners.
