Issue/Introduction

Powering on immediately following a power failure, brown-out, or during a power cycle results in SGOS boot failure

Resolution

Blue Coat has determined that if the power is terminated and immediately re-activated on the units listed below there is a very small possibility that the OS may not initialize or load up properly. In the event of a brown-out or when powering down the unit, be sure to allow approximately 2-5 seconds to pass before powering the unit back on.  Blue Coat recommends that your ProxySG hardware units be attached to uninterruptible power supplies (UPSes) to avoid or minimize any disruption of service due to power inconsistencies.

The following hardware units are affected:
SG510, SG810, SG8100, SG300, SG600, SG900, SG9000
