"Microsoft Windows Updates not installing" fix using Application Control Feature

Issue/Introduction

Scenario:

* Microsoft Windows updates are failing when clients traverse ProxySG on Explicit Deployment 

* Microsoft Windows updates are working when bypassing the proxy

* You want  Microsoft Windows updates to work via proxySG

 

 

 If you are using one of the latest SGOS versions (6.2.x or 6.5.x) and Blue Coat WebFilter, you can take advantage of using the Application Control Feature to trigger "Microsoft Update".  Below is an example of the CPL rule that can be installed on the Local Policy:    

 

<proxy> 

 Allow url.application.name="Microsoft Update"  authenticate (no) bypass_cache(yes) detect_protocol (none)
