Issue/Introduction

The article describes a way to verify PacketShaper measurement engine events using SNMP traps.

Environment

Packet Shaper

Resolution

SNMP trap "psAlarmMeasurementEngine" is generated when PacketWise detects any of the following conditions on the measurement engine:

1) The measurement engine fails to start properly.
2) The measurement engine is stopped while measurement data is being backed up.
3) The measurement engine is stopped while measurement data is being restored.
4) Startup is disabled.
5) Measurement data cannot be saved because of a problem on the data disk.

Note: Since "psAlarmMeasurementEngine" does not send traps when measurement engine starts, you may consider using  SNMP poll for "psAlarmMeasurementEngineStatus."
