You can either enter the pre-population URL directly, or you can use the URL Builder to specify the fields one at a time.
First log in to ProxySG Sky interface by typing https://ProxySG_IP:8082/Sky. Then select Configure > Content Caching > Content Pre-population
Follow steps below to pre-populate using CIFS URL
1. Enter the URL in the following format:
cifs://<domain>;<username>:<password>@<server>/<share>/<path-to-file>
2. If any of the directory or file names in <path-to-file> contain a space, enclose the entire URL in quotation marks. For example: "cifs://MNA;john.smith:[email protected]/FINANCE/2009/may2009.xls"
3. (Optional) If users will be accessing the content from a different location:
a. Select the checkbox Distribute content to end users from a different location.
b. Fill in the Server name, Share name, and Path to file. If the Path to file is the same as the content location, you can leave this field blank.
4. Click Pre-populate now to initiate the request.
5. Monitor the progress in the Content Pre-population Progress panel.
Follow these steps to pre-populate using the URL Builder
1. Type Server name. This can be an IP address (IPv4 or IPv6), DNS name, or fully qualified domain name of the origin server. Must contain 6-24 characters, and spaces are not allowed
2. Type Share name of the shared folder on the server. Can be maximum of 32 characters, and these characters are not allowed < > : “ / \ | ? *
3. Path to file is optional. If the content is inside a directory, path to file is required. If you don't specify a path, all files and directories in the specified share will be pre-populated. Can be maximum 256 characters, and these characters are not allowed < > : “ / \ | ? *
4. Enter content access credentials (optional):
a. Domain -The domain the user belongs to. Must contain 2-64 characters.
b. User name -The name of the user who has permission to access the share on the server. Can be 64 characters maximum.
c. Password - The user's password. Can be 64 characters maximum. Can contain any character except spaces and the following symbols ; @
5. If users will be accessing the content from a different location (optional):
a. Select the checkbox Content will be accessed from a different location than above.
b. Fill in the Server name, Share name, and Path to file. If the Path to file is the same as the content location, you can leave this field blank.
6. Click Pre-populate now to initiate the request.
7. Monitor the progress in the Content Pre-population Progress panel.
