This tech articles addresses the steps involved for modifying the license type (Proxy or MACH5 edition) of proxy appliances.
You must first reset the ProxySG to factory default settings using the following CLI command from enable mode:
proxy#restore-defaults factory-defaults
Next, run through the Initial Configuration Wizard once again, this time making sure to select Proxy Edition.
Press the Enter key three times to activate the configuration wizard. ----------------------Configuration Start------------------------------- Welcome to the Blue Coat ProxySG configuration wizard. 3. Select manual setup [a].
4. In step 2, press Enter to select the default selection [b].
5. In the next screen, press Enter to select the default selection [2].

If you want to make a change, press the Y key to restart the sequence of questions. Otherwise, press the N key.

For console username, press Enter to accept the default selection [admin].
Confirm the console and enable passwords.

The SGOS MACH5 Edition is designed to optimize and secure WAN networks being used in Application Delivery Networks (ADN). The MACH5 Edition does not include all of the security and control features included in the Proxy Edition. All SGOS MACH5 Edition Edition features, including ADN optimization, are available in the Proxy Edition. It is important to note that a downgrade from Proxy Edition to MACH5 Edition will result in a loss of configuration. And an upgrade from MACH5 Edition to Proxy Edition may require some configuration settings to be changed. A new SG will run with a 60 day trial period prior to installing a license. Conduct your selection (in this case MACH5) and press the Enter key.
When asked if you would like to change your selection, press Enter to select NO.
