The Edge SWG (Formerly ProxySG) Appliance can be configured to use a personalized local database stored on an HTTP or FTP server in the local network for content filtering.
A proxy administrator may like to know how often this local database is checked for updates.
If Automatically check for updates is enabled (which is by default) the Edge SWG will poll the web server in five-minute intervals. This can be verified by checking the View Download Status.
One can customize the windows of time at which the automatic updates checks happens, for example, one might specify automatic updates only between the hours of 8 pm and 11 pm. The time frame is always based in the proxy local time.
Note: The frequency of updates within the specified time period is not
configurable.
To configure when the appliance check for updates, go to:
Management Console > Content Filtering > Local Database, check the option Only between the hours of, and select one's preferred range of times for the Edge SWG to check for updates to the local categorization database.
