How do VPM rules and objects work?
Understanding VPM rules and objects
You want to know how VPM rules and objects work

Resolution

A policy layer can contain multiple rules. Every rule is listed in a separate row. If multiple rules exist within a policy layer, the ProxySG finds the first one that matches a given situation and ignores the remaining rules.

Each rule is comprised of objects. The objects are the individual elements of a rule you specify. Below is a list of object types. Note that not all object types are available in every policy layer.

    Object Types:
Source, Destination, Service, Time, Action, Track, and Comment

To learn which objects are available in the different VPM policy layers, please refer to the Configuration and Management Guide (CMG) for the version of SGOS that you are running.
