Test the interface from the hardware diagnostics mode

Resolution

To run the test, the interface to be tested should be connected directly to any other interface on the proxy using a straight through cable or a loopback plug

• Connect to the appliance using a serial cable.
• Power up the appliance.
• Interrupt the bootup sequence by pressing space when xx seconds remaining  is displayed onscreen.
• Press d when a list of Diagnostic images is displayed onscreen.
• Select the diagnostics mode image by pressing the related index number from the display menu.
• Connect two interfaces of the appliance with a direct cable (Straight Through) (e.g 1:0 and 1:1)  or insert loopback plug into interface to be tested.
• From the command prompt, enter:

  (Diag>test network 1:0 1:1)
 
  This will test both Receive and Transmit both directions automatically

Please Note: If getting "Error: External loopback across different adapters not permitted" then testing was done on two interfaced not on the same Riser Card or Same NIC card. Interface testing has to be done with two Interfaces on the same Riser or NIC card. Example below when testing 0:0 to 1:1.
