Issue/Introduction

What happens when a Vendor Certification (VC) is added or Vendor Certification priority (VCP) is changed in CA Performance Management (CAPM)?

Environment

DX NetOps CAPM 20.x or later

Cause

CAPM will use the first vendor certification it finds that matches, starting at the top.

Your business needs may require a specific VC is used first.

Using the manage button under a metric family, move the preferred VC higher up the list.

Resolution

1. If you change a priority group, it will trigger a full rediscovery of everything with the metric family applied.

2. Adding a vendor certification to the end of the priority will rediscover all devices that do not already have a vendor certification for this metric family and the metric family is applied to the device.

3. Any other changes will rediscover everything LOWER IN PRIORITY than the change with the related Metric Family applied
