Here are the steps to reset the admin password for Reporter 9.x.
Red Hat LINUX servers:
- Navigate to the root folder of your Blue Coat Reporter installation; by default installed to /opt/bc/reporter.
- Stop Reporter: /etc/init.d/bcreporter stop.
- Remove the isready.txt file: rm isready.txt.
- Run the do-startup.sh shell script: ./do-startup.sh.
- Answer the prompts for renewing your admin password and license information.
- Restart Reporter: /etc/init.d/bcreporter start.
Microsoft Windows servers.
- Navigate to the root folder of your Blue Coat Reporter installation; by default is installed to Program Files/Blue Coat Reporter 9.
- Use the Service Panel stop Reporter.
- Remove the isready.txt file: del isready.txt.
- Run the bcrstartup.exe executable: bcrstartup --prompt.
- Answer the prompts for renewing your admin password and license information.
- Restart Reporter from the Service Panel.
NOTE: These steps should not affect other local users configured in this file.
