Issue/Introduction

How do I purge old data from the database in Reporter 9?

How do I check on the data retention in Reporter 9?

How do I reduce the database size in Reporter 9?

Resolution

To check the data retention, or how many days of data keep in the database:

  1. Navigate to Administration > General Settings > Reporter Settings > Data Settings > Databases.
  2. At the database(s) in question, select the Actions drop-down list and select Set Expiration.
  3. If Expire database data older than.. is selected and has a value of (for example) 60 days, this mean that 60 days worth of data remains in the database. Any data older than 60 days expires and is purged from the database when the process is scheduled to run, which is set in the Frequency field.
  4. To purge more old data from the database to reduce the database size, edit the value for the amount of days.
  5. Set the Frequency. The default is daily at midnight. Keep in mind that if you use weekly or monthly, the database data will exceed the number of days set for that duration.
  6. Click Save to apply the settings.

NOTE:  You can also use this process to purge some old data from the database to reduce the database size.
