PacketShaper

Issue/Introduction

The Flow Detail Records (FDR) feature is a method for gathering and processing per-flow statistics. When FDR is enabled, the PacketShaper will become an emitter, periodically pushing data to a remote system called a collector. The unit will emit records that contain details of all flows that go through PacketShaper to a collector, such as Symantec IntelligenceCenter or Cisco's NetFlow. These records are called flow detail records.

Resolution

If the collector is located on the outside interface of the PacketShaper, either a FlowRecords or NetFlowV5 class will be created under the Outbound/Localhost class.  You can verify by monitoring the Class Hits, Current, 1 Min, and Peak columns.

See FDR Troubleshooting  for more information.
