The ProxySG appliance does not provide information on the status/ expiration date of your Symantec Web Filter subscription. The ProxySG appliance requests updates, and the back-end server verifies entitlement and provides an update if the subscription is valid.
Although a valid subscription is required for updating the Symantec Web Filter database, you can continue to use the on-box database until its expiry date is reached. At the expiry of the database, the category unlicensed is assigned to all URLs and database lookups to apply policy can no longer occur.
Everyday for 30 days before your database expires, a severe event message is logged and/or you receive emails about the failure to download an updated database.
