Issue/Introduction

Three methods available to change the ProxyClient Manager IP on the Client.

Method A: Change the settings on Registry on each Client and Manually change the Manager via ProxyClient GUI

Refer to Proxy Client Admin guide

Method B: Change the settings on the existing ProxyClient Manager

If you have the old and new ProxyClient Manager up and running:

  1. On the existing/old ProxyClient Manager, in the Management Console navigate to Configuration > ProxyClient > General > Client Manager.
  2. In the Client Manager area, select Use Host.
  3. Type the new IP address of the ProxyClient manager.

The requirement is that all clients need to fetch the update for it to take effect. If the client is not running, they still need to be manually changed using the steps involving the Registry change and access to the ProxyClient GUI.

Method C: Add the Old Client Manger IP to a VIP on the Proxy and use "Use Host" option.

If you already change the ProxyClient Manager IP address

  1. Add a VIP(Virtual IP) on the current ProxyClient Manager with the old IP address of the ProxyClient Manager.
    Or
Temporarily change the ProxyClient Manager IP to the old IP address.
  2. In the Management Console navigate to Configuration > ProxyClient > General > Client Manager.
  3. In the Client Manager area, select Use Host.
  4. Type the new IP address of the ProxyClient manager.

The same requirement is that the client need to fetch the update for it to take effect. If the client is not running, they still need to be manually changed using the steps involving the Registry change and access to the ProxyClient GUI
