How to view configuration changes made on the ProxySG over the past 30 days?

Issue/Introduction

To view changes made to the ProxySG configuration over the past 30 days, Snapshots can be reviewed from the unit. The "/sysinfo" snapshots file on the ProxySG contains the configuration state for each day over the previous 30 days (by default). Since it only holds a history of 30 days, all data prior to 30 days is overwritten each day.

Resolution

To review the snapshot "/sysinfo" files, go to Management Console > Maintenance tab > Service Information > Snapshots:

• Click View All Snapshots button (bottom right·hand corner)
• Click view or download for each individual snapshot "/sysinfo" or click download all
• View the section labeled: Software Configuration

Currently (as of the date of this article), there is no tool available from Blue Coat to automate the process of viewing the configuration changes as described above.

Note: Apart from the Software Configuration, statistics such as HTTP, TCP/IP, WCCP, et c. can also be tracked from the snapshot "/sysinfo" file.
