Getting "Error: Duplicate Definition:..." when installing VPM policy.

Issue/Introduction

When installing policy in the Visual Policy Manager (VPM), an error similar to the following is displayed in the "Messages" box:

"Compiling new configuration file: Inline configuration
Mon, 23 Mar 2009 16:22:05 UTC
Error: Duplicate definition: '__PROTO_3'
cpl.local:31: define condition __PROTO_3"

Resolution

Check all other Policy Files to see if policy was erroneously imported from one file into another, causing a duplicate.

In the example error shown above, the VPM-CPL from one ProxySG was copied and pasted into another ProxySG's Local Policy File while there was already a previous version of the same VPM-CPL in the appropriate location; however, the same issue can happen if duplicate policy is installed in any of the other Policy Files (Forward or Central).

To check these Files, navigate in the ProxySG Management Console to Configuration tab > Policy > Policy Files > Policy Files tab.
Select "Text Editor" from the drop·down menu for each field and click the Install button individually to check each file for duplicate policy.
