Issue/Introduction

LogMeIn Remote Access fails with detect protocol enabled.

LogMeIn Remote Access fails although you have configured not to detect protocol for logmein.com, logmein123.com, and secure.logmein.com.

Resolution

If you perform a policy trace, you can see connections to LogMeIn through various IP addresses within the range of 216.52.233.0/24.

This is from APNIC Whois Database:
LOGMEIN, INC. INAP-LAX-LOGMEIN-30257 (NET-216-52-233-0-1) 216.52.233.0 - 216.52.233.255

Hence, you can disable protocol detection for requests to the logmein.com domain in another way:

  1. In the Management Console, select Configuration > Policy Files.
  2. Beside Install Local File from: Text Editor, click Install.
  3. Paste the following into the Local File:

    <Proxy>
    url.address=216.52.233.0/24 detect_protocol(none)

     
  4. Click Install and then click Apply.
