"Error: Unable to read SPD memory information from DIMM 1" when loading SGOS on SG510-A and SG510-B appliances

Issue/Introduction

When loading SGOS 5.5.11.x on either a SG510-A or SG510-B, the following error is displayed on the serial output:

Error: Unable to read SPD memory information from DIMM 1

The serial output below shows the SGOS boot and load process including the error:

Management Console started

All SG510s have 2 DIMM slots, but for SG510-A and SG510-B only 1 DIMM slot is populated.
The SG510-A and SG510-B memory configuration is as follows:

• DIMM slot 1: Empty
• DIMM slot 2: 1 x 1GB DIMM.

Versions of SGOS 5.5.11.x prior to 5.5.11.7 expect both memory DIMM slots to be populated and report an error when it is not possible to read from memory DIMM slot number 1.
This error does not impact the functionality of the ProxySG in anyway.

Resolution

To resolve this error please install SGOS 5.5.11.7 or newer.
