Director ProxySG Software - SGOS

Issue/Introduction

The Director Management Console indicates "Disconnected" and "Authentication failed/SSH key error" when you view a description of the ProxySG appliance.

In this example, the appliance has an IPv4 address (10.106.17.238) and an IPv6 address (2001:380:6bf:230:2e0:81ff:fe5f:c96c). The Director configuration for this appliance has both addresses, as in the following:

Resolution

This issue occurs usually because of misconfigured options on the appliance. To resolve the issue, configure the ProxySG' appliance's security settings to allow IPv6 management. Because Director connects to the appliance on both HTTPS and SSH, you must edit both services.

Edit the HTTPS Console service:

  1. Log in to the ProxySG appliance Management Console.
  2. Select Configuration > Services > Management Services.
  3. Locate the HTTPS-Console service.
  4. Select the service and click Edit.
  5. Click New on the Listeners section at the bottom of the page
  6. Add the appliance's IPv6 address to the list of IP address on which the appliance can be managed.
  7. Click OK > OK and click Apply.

Edit the SSH Console service:

  1. In the Management Console, select Configuration > Services > Management Services.
  2. Locate the SSH-Console service.
  3. Select the service and click Edit.
  4. Click New on the Listeners section at the bottom of the page
  5. Add the ProxySG's IPv6 address to the list of IP address on which the appliance can be managed.
  6. Click OKOK and Apply.

After you configure these two management services to use the IPv6 address of the appliance, log in to the Director Management Console and test access to the appliance again.
