Issue/Introduction

PacketShaper synthetic transaction feature initiates ICMP, web, or other TCP transactions at periodic intervals to verify the availability of critical hosts.

Resolution

Although you can create synthetic transactions for FTP, FTP user authentication is not supported. The “ftp” type will issue a single RETR for the path file, and the FTP server then advertises a message “I am ready.”
