Do I need a WebFilter or Intelligence Services subscription for SWG VA?

Issue/Introduction

Whether you require a separate content filtering license depends on the Secure Web Gateway Virtual Appliance (SWG VA) model you are using.

Resolution

• For SG-VA-XXX-XX-XX models (including newer high-performance models), a content filtering license is not included. Separate subscriptions are available for Symantec WebFilter (formerly BCWF), Intelligence Services - Standard, or Intelligence Services - Advanced.
• For the SG-VA V100 model, the Symantec WebFilter license is included and allows for concurrent users.
  Note: To download the BCWF database on SWG VA, keep the user name and password fields empty (Configuration > Content Filtering > Blue Coat WebFilter). The URL should remain unchanged. For details, refer to http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH245167.
