Issue/Introduction

Reporter 10.2.x and above supports IPv6 reporting by default. No changes to the configuration are necessary

Reporter 9 does not support this out-of-the-box.  The default settings for the Reporter database do not support this size of IP address, but, by modifying certain configuration files manually, you can set this up.

Resolution

Reporter 10.2.x and above supports IPv6 reporting by default. No changes to the configuration are necessary.

Here are instructions for modifying the the default IP addressing string size in Reporters version 9:

 NOTE: These steps must be done before processing logs for any databases.

• Stop Reporter.
• open the dbfields.cfg file under the "settings" folder
• Find the line "ip_field = true" and change it to be "ip_field = false"
• Restart Reporter and process logs
