Director has the incorrect time and is not updating using NTP server. How can I fix this?

Resolution

To update the time using the NTP server

  1. Disable ntp (#no ntp enable)
  2. Run command (#ntpdate <ip address or hostname of time server>)
  3. Check to ensure that the time updates right away (#show clock)
  4. Enable ntp (#ntp enable)

What if (#show clock) does not update?

If Director’s clock is inaccurate by several hours, and you are using ntp, restart Director. Upon restart, ntp uses "ntpdate" to reset the system clock.
