Issue/Introduction

When trying to classify HTTPS connections from Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter using the WebPulse-based web application classification, it doesn't appear to be working.

Resolution

PacketGuide states that web operation classification is not supported for application traffic that is encrypted by SSL.

This means that if you are trying to classify SSL-based connections from Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, you will have to do it by the built-in service for each type of classification.  For example, create a new class by adding the Facebook service.  You can then classify all Facebook connections in this class including any SSL-based connections.
