Can I install an additional disk drive if my ProxySG appliance has an empty drive bay?

Issue/Introduction

The number of disks supported by the ProxySG is hard coded onto the licensed hardware model. If more than the expected number of disks for that ProxySG model is detected, the appliance will report this as an "unsupported configuration" and may introduce unexpected behavior even though the specification is identical to the existing supported disk drive.

Blue Coat recommends installation of an upgrade kit (if available) as it includes officially supported hardware and a license upgrade. Purchasing a new hardware is also recommended if the existing model is not upgradeable.
