To ensure network stability when using dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF or EIGRP with a PacketShaper, it is best to pass the routing updates through the PacketShaper without applying a shaping policy to this traffic. The best way to achieve this is to use an IP filter to pass this traffic through the device.

Resolution

In addition to the multicast address range used by your routing protocol, you will also need to include the unicast address of the router to ensure all updates are passed through successfully.
