Windows clients and servers running Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 14.0 experience frequent hangs after updating to Virus Definitions of 4/18/2017 or later. In many cases impacted systems will be running additional security software, such as encryption software.
An SDS Engine update was released on 4/18/2017. Symantec Development identified and corrected an Auto-Protect issue within this engine release.
This issue was resolved in a subsequent SDS engine update. This update is included with Virus and Spyware Definitions 5/3/2017 r8 and later.
