Issue/Introduction

You run the Ghost Installation Readiness Check and received a "Failed" message on the check to see if the user is in the Local Administrators group, but the user is in fact in the Local Administrators group.

Environment

GSS 3.X

Resolution

You must right click on the application, Run As Administrator, even if you are already logged in as an administrator. This is necessary because Windows does not run applications at an elevated privilege level by default no matter what user you are logged in as.

  1. Quit the Ghost installer
  2. Right Click on the installer, choose Run As Administrator
  3. Run the Install Readiness Check again.
