Issue/Introduction

MATLAB simulation model compilation fails when Symantec Endpoint Protection Application and Device Control (SEP ADC) is installed.

For example, running a VDP sample model (Van der Pol simulation) in "accelerator" mode results in lcc64 compiler errors.

Appears to affect only Windows 10 machines where SEP 12.1 ADC is installed.

Error(s) encountered while building 'vdp'

Problem creating Accelerator MEX file for model 'vdp'

Failed to build model 'vdp' using LCC in accelerator mode, please consider using MSVC instead

Cause

This is caused by a SEP ADC process injection fault that has been fixed in SEP 14.0

Resolution

Work-around: remove ADC from the SEP installation

Otherwise, upgrade to SEP 14.0 or newer.
