Issue/Introduction

Getting Error: 8920, 223 when attempting to update Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition cloud (SEP SBE).

Cause

LiveUpdate fails to download virus definitions.

Resolution

Update your virus definitions using Intelligent Updater. This tool will replace any possible corrupted virus definitions on the SBE Cloud Agent.

Download the appropriate Intelligent Updater for your system:

• For 32bit systems: symcdefscore3v5i32.exe
• For 64bit systems: symcdefscore3v5i64.exe

1. Save the file to the Windows desktop.
2. On the desktop, double-click the file that you downloaded.
3. In the Symantec Intelligent Updater window, click Yes to continue.
4. When Intelligent Updater finishes updating the definitions, click OK.
5. If the problem persists follow the steps to completely uninstall the SBE Cloud Agent.
