Workspace Streaming (formerly AppStream)

Issue/Introduction

When one or more virtual application packages are configured in the Streaming Console to pre-cache, no applications pre-cache until one is selected in the portal, then all pre-cache downloads occur.

Environment

Observed in Symantec Workspace Streaming (SWS) 7.6, possible in other versions.

Cause

The Symantec Workspace Streaming (SWS) agent was originally installed when the system was configured to not use automatic domain authentication. In one case the agent was installed in this state on a golden image and then the problem occurred on every computer the image was deployed to. More specifically the registry key HKLM\Software\AppStream\AppMgr\Apps\Licenses\InstallServerIntegratedLogin is set to 0, meaning automatic domain authentication on the server is disabled.

Resolution

Change the registry key HKLM\Software\AppStream\AppMgr\Apps\Licenses\InstallServerIntegratedLogin to have a value of 1. Do this in the golden image if deploying agents through an image. Applications configured to pre-cache should do so when the user logs on and the SWS agent starts.
