adlagent.conf tcpaddr=[IP ADDRESS] is changing to tcpaddr=[HOSTNAME]

Issue/Introduction

Everytime the adlagent checks in or the linux OS reboots the adlagent.conf gets updated with the hostname instead of the IP address of the GSS server. 

Environment

adlagent 2.6.xxx

Any linux host

Cause

In the console there is agent settings enforcement in Console > tools > options > Agent Settings > Windows Settings > Change default settings. When the force new agent settings to take these default settings will force all agents to change their settings (Linux, Windows, OSX)

 

 

Resolution

In the console there is agent settings enforcement in Console > tools > options > Agent Settings > Windows Settings > Change default settings. (remove the check from Force new agents to take these changes)

then change the adlagent.conf back to the ipaddress. 

NOTE:Even though the above window mentions windows agents, this setting will effect linux/mac adlagents agents.
