Peer to Peer agent downloads cross site boundries.

Issue/Introduction

After enabling peer to peer downloads, agents show downloads occuring between remote site peers.

Environment

8.0 HF6

Cause

Peer to peer port traffic is allowed by router between sites.

Resolution

A fix is available in article: INFO4241.

Alternatives to this pointfix potentially include blocking port 56118 traffic at the site/wan boundaries.  

Another potential option could be disabling the "Peer announcement:" in the downloads tab of targeted agent settings:

1. In the Console, browse under Settings > All Settings.
2. In the tree, browse down Agents/Plug-ins > Symantec Management Agent > Settings > and select Targeted Agent Settings.
3. Select the Policy that corresponds to the systems experiencing the problem (typically All Desktop computers (excluding 'Site Servers').
4. Click on the Downloads tab.
5. Uncheck the "Peer announcement:" option.
