Issue/Introduction

Mozilla Firefox version 46.0 is crashing with Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) installed.

 

Mozilla Crash Reporter comes up every time you start the browser:
 

Environment

Symantec Endpoint Protection with IPS component

Windows

Mozilla Firefox 46.0

Cause

Conflict between Mozilla Firefox 46.0 and SEP IPS definitions dated between February 22nd (20170222.011) and March 9th 2017 (20170309.011)

Resolution

Update SEP IPS definitions. Versions from March 10th 2017 (20170310.011) onwards do not exhibit the problem.

Workaround: Update Mozilla Firefox to the most recent version.
