Issue/Introduction

PDF Email Protection users are not automatically deleted by Encryption Management Server according to the Inactivity Expiration setting in Services / Web Email Protection / Options.

Web Email Protection users are automatically deleted.

Secure Replies sent by PDF Email Protection users are automatically deleted according to the Inactivity Expiration setting, as are Web Email Protection messages.

Environment

Encryption Management Server 3.3 and above.

Resolution

This is by design.

Although they share many similarities, PDF Email Protection users are not treated identically to Web Email Protection users.

A Feature Request to be able to clean up users has been logged and is currently being reviewed by our Symantec Enterprise Division Product teams.  Please contact support to be added to this request.
