Microsoft Windows systems show incorrect version in the Endpoint Protection Manager console Computer Status Report

Issue/Introduction

Computer Status logs generated on the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) show incorrect Microsoft Windows operating system versions (e.g. Windows 8.1 Professional systems report as Windows 10 Professional)

Cause

This is caused by incorrect Operating System to R_OS_type mapping in the os_en.sab file that is found under:

• 12.1.x SEPM: %SEPM%\Inetpub\Reporting\Temp\
• 14.0.x SEPM: %SEPM%\Php\Include\Resources\

Resolution
