Issue/Introduction

After installing Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 14, the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 (8.0.39663.0) client starts slowly, in spite of the relevant Application Control, AV, SONAR, Tamper Protection and Trusted Web Domain exclusions being in place.

Cause

The issue is caused by an Auto-Protect related deadlock.

Resolution

The issue was resolved in SEP 14 MP1, which did away with the Auto-Protect related deadlock, allowing the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 (8.0.39663.0) client to start without a significant delay (the exception being the first start-up after the installation of our product).
