Issue/Introduction

The Discovered Unreviewed Software page shows software components that can't actually be reviewed/managed. When looking at the properties of the problem software it shows Attributes: Readonly. The read-only software may have been created by running software inventory on Linux servers.

Environment

8.0 HF4

Cause

The behavior of the Discovered Unreviewed Software page was changed in 8.0 HF4 to improve performance but now no longer hides read-only software.

Resolution

Add custom filter criteria to the Discovered Unreviewed Software page to hide read-only software.

1. Click the drop-down button next to the Search in 'Discovered Unreviewed Software' box.
2. Click Add Filter Criteria then select Edit Criteria List.
3. Check the box next to Attributes then click OK.
4. Click Add Filter Criteria then select Attributes (Software Component).
5. Change = to the not equals sign then enter "18" in the box (18 is the read-only attribute).
6. Click the Save Filter button.
